Know Your Audience
Know your audience.
In order for your delivery to have a true impact value and influence your audience there are four questions you must be able to answer:
How many people will there be in the audience?
What re their expectations and what do they want from my presentation?
What is their background and
What is their knowledge base.
Answering these ensures that your visual aids are appropriate, your room and venue are conducive and that you pitch your delivery at the right level. Too 'High brow' and fill of technical or industry abbreviations will not make you look important and knowledgeable, it will turn the audience off. Conversely pitch your delivery too low and you won't keep the audience interested or engaged.
